Fresh Mode Screen Printing- Prints The Civil X Evoker Shirts

Location: North Kingstown, RI
Space: Fresh Mode Screen Printing
May 2014

In anticipation of Evoker's skate deck release party with Civil (happening tonight - Saturday, May 31, 6pm!), the Studio Miners visited Fresh Mode Screen Printing to check out their space and get a preview of the t-shirts being printed for the deck event. For this release, Evoker put his RI spin on the classic 80s movie, Big Trouble in Little China, renaming it "Big Trouble in Little Rhody" and giving recognition to the Civil community. If you head to Civil tonight, you can also view Evoker's painting work, on the front window as well as on canvas.

We were both super excited to get back into a screen printing shop, Evoker having worked in one in the past, and Jess having dabbled in screen printing back in NZ. Fresh Mode's space was welcoming, inside and out, with a mini waterfall out back and the walls inside adorned with their impressive and fun past work. A big THANK YOU to the guys at Fresh Mode for letting us invade their work space!

The Studio Miners are excited to announce new works by Boston-based artists Josh Falk and Dana Woulfe in their dual exhibition Depth of Feel. This exhibition showcases the individual and collaborative work of these two artists. The title of the show refers to the combination of the literal depth of field in Josh’s photography and the "feel" or emotion/energy often associated with Dana’s work.

Dana Woulfe is a visual artist living and working in Boston, MA.  He is known for his vivid, abstract paintings and large scale mural work. A New England native, he grew up in Rhode Island and learned to appreciate the arts at a young age through the influence of his grandmother, an illustrator and painter. Josh Falk is a Boston based mixed media artist.  Born and raised in Leominster, MA he spent most of his time exploring the outdoors, skateboarding and painting graffiti, as well as woodworking with his grandfather.  He attended the Art Institute of Phoenix and Fitchburg State College, before eventually moving to Boston.  There, Falk began to use photography as a means to document his various urban explorations and it soon became his main creative focus. More recently his work has evolved to include collages, painting, and site-specific sculpture work.
